Triumph "Low Seat"

« on: July 18, 2018, 08:39:50 PM »
When is a Low Seat not a low Seat?    Answer: When it's a Triumph Low Seat

Yesterday I went to Woods to check on my new Street Twin and there it was in the showroom just waiting for me. All the accessories fitted except the mudguard extension (on back order with Triumph).

Obviously the first thing I do is sit on it and I think to myself this does not seem any lower than standard. Maybe it's because I've got my ordinary shoes on (I was in the car) so I got them to put the standard seat back on and it is just the same. Swapped it a couple of times and I can't tell any difference. Put them side by side and apart from one being flat and the lower being ribbed there may be 2 or 3mm difference but nowhere near the 20mm Triumph claim. At 210 I think it's a total rip off for no benefit. So I'm VERY disappointed with Triumph that extra 20mm would have got me flat footed instead of ball of the foot.

I cancelled the Low Seat and opted for bar end mirrors - absolute bargain at only 169.50  :'( glad Triumph are paying

Triumph would appear to have out BMW'd BMW.
Optional low seat on the GS I have on order is listed as a no cost option.
I've ordered the comfort seat at 105 inc' vat.
Seems cheap in comparison to Triumph.

Bloody comfort seats... Who would want an uncomfortable seat?!
Old enough to know better, but still too young to care.
