Idiot strip would be more appropriate! Is it a delivery bike? It's got a disc brake, so not a 50cc...

it's only a bit thin in the middle officer, there is plenty of tread over 3/4 of the width

300cc. Never seen anything like it - there was tread on it when I set off (and air in it too)

Settle to Harrogate and part of the way back before wayward handling eventually made me take a peek!

Oh dear! I suppose with all enclosed bodywork it does make it hard to see the tread depth easily. Looks like you need to stop doing burnouts! What make of tyre is (was) it? Maybe it was faulty?

That's the point - there was plenty of tread when I set off. The lack of air pressure (I assume due to a slow puncture en-route) meant that I ripped the rubber off the tyre??
I don't know.
