Had a quote? Post your results...

« on: September 03, 2012, 05:17:26 PM »
If you get a quote from Bikesure, please let us know how it goes in here.

Whether it's cheaper or not, we'd like to know how you find it.
Please add all the usual policy details (TPFT, Fully Comp, Modified, any extras, price) and then - depending on the outcome - let us know the closest comparable quote, and who that's with.

That way we can keep track of who makes the most of the discounts, and whether its worthwhile.  8)

Cheers all  :D

got a bikesure quote, it wasn't bad, but not cheapest or best value for money.

Fully Comp, protected NCD was 170

cheapest was Bennets (who i wouldn't go to even if it was free!!!)

best value was MCE 120 inc Breakdown, Legal, Injury, and Helmet and Leathers. + protected NCD.

I think MCE have an offer on at the mo with all the add ons free.

Did you hvae any problems with them taking off the 15%?
I imagined it to be a case of them not having a clue what you were talking about...

Had a quote from bikesure today, it was around 6 cheaper than my renewal from Carole Nash, but decided to stay with Nash as the excess was 250 and 400 with Bikesure.

Quote was for:-
Fully Comp
SDP and commuting
European Breakdown cover including home start (Standard with C Nash)
100,000 legal protection
Minimum legal insurance cover for travel in EU
I only have 12 months NCD as just started riding again last year.

Quote Carole Nash 235 and bikesure 229

One more thing Bikesure made a song and dance about commuting, wanting to know the works postcode, how was the bike to be kept there, was there any security measures in place at work etc etc...  C Nash didnt ask any questions.

Thanks for posting this mate. Good to see that the quote you got wasn't too unreasonable, but shame about the excess, it seems a little hefty to say the least!

Yep shame, one other thing that wound me up was when I said thanks but no thanks, he put the phone straight down.  No thanks for your inquiry, hope to do business with you in the future, NOTHING.

Well that's not very good is it!!
May be worth feeding that back to Bikesure through a PM...

Did you have any problems when you mentioned the site discount? Did it go through alright?

Forgot to mention that  :-[ I thought it may have been automatic seeing as I pm'd bikesure. Anyway happy with the quote I have, even the comparison sites couldn't match it.

Yeah basically you just tell them over the phone that you're a member on here, and they should take upto 15% off for he premium.

Fair play mate, you go wherever's cheapest and best for you :)

Just had a quote from the bike insurer on line

I'm 53, full bike licence since 1976, TPF&T, commuting, Kawasaki ZX6r 2001, 4 years no claims, pillion included.

82.07 With Bennetts, again Excess bit steep 250 + 300 vol but I can live with that (would have liked about 350 in total).

Next one is 103.43 but the excess in total is only 125!!! (Dosn't include other bike use tho')

Got to think about this a bit don't really ride many other bikes (nor let anyone on mine  ;D ) but its always there.
